Description

Carving, St Mirin Chapel

It is presumed the carving referred to is the carved altar screen in St Mirin Chapel of Paisley Abbey, depicting six scenes from the life of St Mirin. Since the location of this carving is givin as Smithhills, which in earlier days was the name given to Gauze Street, there is also the possibility that the carving may have been part of the abbey wall. Researched by G. McCrea, compiled by J. Dowling, 24/3/2004.
